Intro:
Flash generates compact vector based movies suitable for web delivery.
The main objective of this brief is for you to learn to use Flash
software confidently.
Later assignments including programming, web and interface design
units will assume you have good Flash ability. We will also look
at graphic drawing techniques and storyboard planning.
Task:
For this brief, you are asked to create a web page ad banner using
MacroMedia Flash. It will loop continuously, and attract people
to enter a games web site to play a range of Flash games. Keep
to the default size of 550x400 pixels.
The site is named "Game Zone", which needs to appear
prominently. Also required is a computer game animation. This
could be very 70's retro or whatever drawing style you choose.
Note that this is an animation of and not a playable Flash game.
Use library symbols to keep your design clear, bold and clutter
free. Some ideas: Pac man and ghosts, rising bullets / dropping
bombs, character sprites.
Research:
Use your sketch books to draw and make notes of computer game
graphics. At home, watch cartoons especially on Children's TV
and jot down ideas.

Schedule:
1 Plan a 6 (key) frame story board. Use your notes and sketches.
2 Compose a series of Flash graphics. Save as symbols in the library.
3 Import sounds created in Michaels lessons.
4 Use timeline and tweens to add motion, scaling and rotation
to the symbols.
5 Animate your movie symbols for extra effects.
6 Save and upload the movie to your web page in Marks lesson for
viewing.
